FF Scala is an Old Style serif typeface designed by Martin Majoor. It was published through FontFont in 1991 and was their first serious, fully-featured text face release. The design features prominent rectangular serifs, low stroke contrast, open apertures and a large x-height which makes it excel as a text face. The family is available in two weights with matching italics as well as a condensed cut that is useful for headlines. A companion sans-serif version, FF Scala Sans, was published in 1992.
Adobe Fonts (Typekit) includes this family for both web and desktop use with all Creative Cloud plans. No sync limits and unlimited pageviews. Sign up through the above links to help support Typewolf.
