Perpetua is a Transitional serif typeface designed by Eric Gill and released through Monotype in 1929. The design was influenced by Gill’s experience as a stonecutter and contains some distinctive letterforms such as the lowercase a that begins with a sharp point rather than a serif. Perpetua was designed primarily as a book face but also includes a display version known as Perpetua Titling.
