PMN Caecilia is a slab serif typeface designed by Peter Matthias Noordzij (hence the name PMN) and published through Linotype in 1990. The design is intended to mimic the writing of a broad nib pen with subtle changes in stroke thickness—this gives it humanist qualities and makes it very comfortable to read for a slab serif. The Amazon Kindle uses PMN Caecilia as a default font which is a testament to its readability.
