Amasis is a humanist slab serif typeface designed by British designer Ron Carpenter in 1990. The design takes a humanist approach rather than the geometric approach seen commonly in slab serifs. Amasis is a highly legible font on screen and for that reason was chosen as the default font for the Nook eReader.
