Impact is a sans-serif typeface designed in 1965 by Geoffrey Lee for the Stephenson Blake foundry. The design features heavy, condensed letterforms, tiny counters and an extremely tall x-height. It’s included as a default font on Windows and Mac operating systems and is well-known for its use in internet meme images like lolcats.
