Fraunces is an open-source serif typeface designed by Phaedra Charles and Flavia Zimbardi. It was commissioned by Google Fonts and released in 2020. The design was inspired by quirky “Old Style” serifs of the early twentieth century. The family is available in nine weights with matching italics, each in three optical sizes, with standard, soft and super-soft variations. It’s also available as a variable font with axes for weight, softness, wonk and optical size.
