Whitney is a humanist sans-serif typeface designed by Tobias Frere-Jones and released in 2004 through H&FJ (now know as H&Co). Originally developed as an institutional typeface for New York’s Whitney Museum, Whitney aims to be functional for signage as well as editorial usage by bridging the gap between gothics such as Franklin Gothic and humanists such as Frutiger. Whitney is an extremely comprehensive font family and includes romans, italics, roman small caps and italic small caps, each available in six weights, plus tabular figures, fractions and extended symbols.
