Mercury is a serif typeface family designed by Jonathan Hoefler and Tobias Frere-Jones. It was the product of nine years of research and development by H&FJ. Mercury is unique in that it’s available in four “grades.” The grades have the same width but are progressively darker in color. This was originally created for different newspaper printing needs, however, it could be useful in digital contexts as well.
