Aachen

Aachen is a slab serif typeface originally designed by Colin Brignall in 1969 for Letraset. The initial release only included a single bold style but the family has since been expanded upon. The latest release, Neue Aachen, is available in nine weights with matching italics. To me, Aachen has always had a masculine, “sporty” feel to it—I remember using it for a football website back in the day. It’s a fairly popular typeface in the offline world but I really haven’t seen it used much as a web font.
