Operator is a typewriter-inspired typeface designed by Andy Clymer and released through Hoefler & Co. in 2016. Although inspired by typewriter faces, Operator is actually a proportional design rather than fixed-width which allows it to function more as a serious text face. The italics adopt a unique script style that provides a stark contrast to the roman. In addition to the natural-width style, the family also includes an actual monospaced version, Operator Mono, that was designed to flourish in programming environments.
