This is a curated collection of my all-time favorite design studio websites ever featured on Typewolf. The focus here is on companies, rather than individual designers (see my list of designer portfolio sites here). I’m using the general label design studio, but this includes digital marketing firms, web design and development shops, creative studios, digital design agencies, brand consultancies and advertising agencies.
To come up with this list, I went through all 2,500+ sites featured on Typewolf over the past seven years, saved all the design studios and then narrowed it down to my 40 favorites. It was tough to choose only 40. The order doesn’t really matter—number 6 isn’t “better” than number 7—I just arranged the thumbnail images in an aesthetically pleasing way, more so than following any kind of ranking system.
Some of my favorite design studios are notably absent from this list—this is either because I haven’t featured their site on Typewolf yet, or else they redesigned their site, and I haven’t had a chance to feature the updated version yet. Here they are, in no particular order: Upstatement, Fuzzco, AREA 17, Zero, The Couch, RoAndCo, Pointer, BFF, Bakken & Bæck, Gander, Love + Money, Red Antler, Heydays, Instrument Wondersauce, She Was Only Lundgren+Lindqvist, ED. Alright Studio, Bureau for Visual Affairs and Your Majesty. Many of the sites you’ve seen featured on Typewolf were the work of these awesome companies.
Also absent are some of the larger, established household names in the design world like Pentagram, R/GA, AKQA, Wolff Olins, Landor, Huge, Critical Mass, Big Spaceship, Ogilvy, Goodby Silverstein, Publicis Sapient, Wieden+Kennedy, BBDO and Wunderman Thompson. Ok, I think this list is getting pretty comprehensive!
